DescriptionOur client requires a Senior Project Manager with experience managing large complex in-house custom software application development projects. Responsibilities will include delivering project plans, monitoring resources, monitoring project progress and providing leadership to team members.

Project Description 
Experience Required/ Mandatory Skills
  • Available to lead frequent face-to-face meetings with clients and technical teams located in Edmonton.
  • 6 years demonstrated leadership experience within an IT environment.
  • 6 years in a project management role in a large and complex organization
  • 6 years working as a Project Manager in a large complex custom software application development environment (Where the software is developed in house for that specific organization).
  • 6 years leading a portfolio of projects or initiatives at one time
  • 6 years leading complex (multi-stakeholder and multi-technology) projects
  • 6 years managing multiple resources and/or delivery teams. (minimum 10 resources)
  • 6 years creating and managing project forecasts
  • 6 years defining project scope, goals and deliverables that support project goals in collaboration with business stakeholders.
  • 6 years writing proposals, briefings, business plans, work statements and strategy documents in support of business goals
  • 6 years developing project documents including: governance, project charters, business cases, briefing notes and status reporting, risk logs and project closures.
  • 3 years managing team with an Agile methodology to deliver business applications and solutions
 
Nice To Have Skills
  • 4 years in the project coordination of information management / information technology initiatives within the government involving third party vendors.
  • 6 years with project lifecycle methodologies
  • 6 years leading and facilitating meetings with stakeholders at all levels
  • 5 years leading change management and communication planning
  • 5 years developing and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships across the organization, including executive level
  • 4 years using MS Project or other project management tools
  • 4 years working with teams consisting of staff, contractors and vendors
  • 2 years negotiating with vendors and other external stakeholders from the client side
 
LocationEdmonton 
Work Environment1 year with possibility of two 12-month extensions
